The Vedas
The beginnings of
Philosophical queries
In Vedic wisdom;
Hymns to nature-gods
And recipes for rituals,
Cosmological,
Moral prescriptions,
And mythical reflections
Upon transcendence,
Revealed to only
Clear-minded sages; they saw
The truth from afar;
Different points of view
To answer a perennial
Question: What did the
Universe come from?
A perpetual tussle
They recorded well
Between existence
And non-existence, with hints
Tersely Agnostic …
The passive gods,
Themselves part of the cosmos,
Are for ever quiet!
The right answer then,
A theology it’s not;
An ontology
Of ubiquitous
Consciousness it has become.
No object can be
‘Worshiped’ absent of
The subjective spring of an
Action, thought or speech…
Veda; the answer
Of all preoccupations,
Panacea for all!
